Report summary

Discovered by Woodside in 2001 Chinguetti was the first oil find in Mauritania. The field is located 80 kilometres offshore in water depths of around 800 metres.Chinguetti was declared commercial and a development licence was carved out of the original PSC Area B. The field was brought on stream in 2006 via a leased floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). Petronas Carigali acquired Woodside's Mauritanian assets in 2007 and became the operator.Production started at ...
