The Chouech Es Saida oil field is located in southern Tunisia, adjacent to the Algerian border and approximately 60 kilometres south of the giant El Borma field. Serinus Energy operates the field. Production is treated onsite at the Chouech Es Saida Central Processing Facility (CPF) which has a processing capacity of 5,000 b/d of oil and 14 mmcfd of gas. The treated oil is transported to Eni's El Borma field via an 80-kilometre 6-inch oil pipeline, where it is tied into the In Amenas-La Skhira pipeline. The operator began producing gas in 2009 after laying an 80-kilometre 6-inch gas pipeline to the gas sales point at Eni's El Borma field. Gas is transported onwards to the Ghannouche terminal near Gabes. ETAP, the state oil company, maintains the right to back-in to the licence up to 50% when cumulative net sales exceed 6.5 million barrels. The licence expires in 2027, at which point the operator may apply to extend the contract.
