The maturity and quality of the remaining subsurface potential varies across Asia-Pacific countries and basins. To attract ongoing investment, governments have adopted a range of contract types, fiscal terms and incentives. Balancing the fiscal terms with the size of the remaining commercial opportunity for investors is key to extracting maximum volumes and value. We believe marginal fields, enhanced recovery projects, gas developments and deepwater exploration are areas that could benefit from more targeted fiscal terms.
