October's month in brief brings you the latest stories from the European upstream sector. Eni and Novatek acquire exploration acreage offshore Montenegro. The wait for Black Sea exploration well results continues. The Faroes reaffirm plans for a Mid-Atlantic Ridge licence round in 2017. We saw San Leon relinquish acreage in Poland and Wintershall has started its multi-well drilling programme at Emlichheim in Germany.
