The crises of 2020 shook Continental Europe’s diverse upstream sector to its core – from Ireland and the Netherlands to the Black Sea and East Med. But, despite the most testing of conditions, there were also milestones to celebrate. Turkey’s giant Sakarya gas discovery in the Black Sea was the fifth largest globally in 2020, highlighting once again the exploration potential at the region’s frontiers.
