Cote d'Ivoire was a small, mature oil and gas producer in West Africa. Current production comes from conventional, mostly Cretaceous, Albian-age reservoirs in shallow water. Oil production started and peaked in the early 1980s. Cote d'Ivoire has a well developed domestic gas market, enabling offshore gas production.
