Crux is a gas/condensate field located in the Ashmore-Cartier sector of the Bonaparte Basin. The field was discovered by Nippon Mitsubishi (now part of ENEOS Corporation) in 2000. Crux entered FEED in February 2019, and FID was taken in May 2022 to develop Crux as a backfill for Prelude. Shell expects first gas in 2027. The field is being developed via an unmanned platform tied back to Prelude FLNG by a 155 kilometre export pipeline.
