The EAGE Conference 2023 took place in Uruguay in September. Companies and professionals came together to discuss the potential of Uruguay' and Argentina's deepwater blocks. The discussions focused on the region's geological and operational challenges and future exploration activities. Wood Mackenzie opened the conference, framing why exploration for advantaged resources is required and the possibility of having the South Atlantic frontiers basins as a source for this resource type. With drilling soon to begin in Argentina and blocks and prospects already advancing in Uruguay, we will soon have more data to match against the region's sky-high expectations.
