Report summary
Emeraude was discovered in 1969 by ERAP, a forerunner of Elf Acquitaine. The shallow water field was the first discovery made offshore Congo. It came onstream in 1972 and crude is exported via the Djeno terminal.Emeraude has very large reservoirs holding in-place volumes of nearly six billion barrels. However, the Senonian sands are very shallow and reservoir pressure is low. In addition, the crude is cold and viscous. As a result, a recovery factor of just 5% is expected.The field was ...
