Colombia has substantial untapped potential for renewable energy due to abundant solar and wind resources and attractive tax incentives. However, obstacles like institutional complexities and social conflicts hinder renewable energy projects. Despite recent changes like halting new exploration contracts and increased taxes, the oil and gas sector still plays a crucial role in the Colombian economy.
