On 1 August 2013, Eni announced a significant oil and gas discovery, Nene' Marine, in shallow water on block Marine XII, Congo. The field is estimated to contain 600 million barrels of oil in place and 700 bcf of gas in place - with upside - making it one of the largest shallow water discoveries in West Africa in the last decade.
