The Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) was established to develop several oil and gas accumulations which were unlikely to prove commercial on a standalone basis. Phase one of the joint development comprised of seven fields: Machar, Marnock, Mungo and Monan (operated by BP), and Egret, Heron and Skua (operated by Shell, but now ceased).
