Exploring Myanmar's potential - fiscal, regulatory and commercial barriers to development
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Deepwater exploration offshore Myanmar has begun, following the official signing of 19 of the 20 PSCs awarded in March 2014. But the fiscal terms indicated by the initial deepwater PSCs are tough, and will make even a 4 tcf deepwater discovery difficult to economically develop. Further challenges to oil and gas development in Myanmar include regulatory ambiguity, a nascent service sector and barriers to gas monetisation.
