Report summary
The Fairview coal seam gas (CSG) project is located in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. Fairview is located on a structural high called the Comet Ridge, which due to its coal properties is considered a world class unconventional gas play. Fairview was discovered in 1994. Pilot gas production began in 1995, with first gas sales in 1997. Gas is produced from the Permian coals and sold to a variety of domestic east coast gas customers. This analysis values only the gas required to satisfy the domestic gas commitments from Fairview. It does not include any gas supplied from Fairview to the LNG export projects at Gladstone.
