The Galeota block contains the producing Trintes field and several other smaller discoveries. Located in shallow waters around 10 kilometres from the east coast of Trinidad, the Trintes field has been producing since 1972. Output peaked in 1982 and then went into decline due to a lack of investment under the ownership of Petrotrin.
