Guyana's upstream fortunes changed with the Liza oil discovery. Liza was the first in a series of over 30 discoveries made over 2015-2024 on the block. Additional appraisal wells on Liza were successful, confirming a giant discovery. The Stabroek block has the size of 1,150 US deepwater GoM blocks, and there is still plenty of exploration potential.
