Hides GTE
Report summary
Hides is an onshore gas/condensate field, located in the central Papuan Foldbelt. It was discovered by BP in 1987, and sold to Oil Search as part of its PNG portfolio divestment in 1998. The Hides Gas to Electricity (GTE) Project began in 1991, selling gas to the nearby Porgera gold mine for electricity generation. Gas is transported via pipeline to a 42 MW power station.
