Iran oil and gas – Wood Mackenzie’s 2016 analysis
Report summary
Iran is one of the world’s most exciting upstream oil and gas opportunities. Since most of the UN, US and EU sanctions were lifted at the start of the year, Iran’s upstream industry has enjoyed an extraordinary resurgence. Oil exports have ramped up to levels last seen pre-sanctions, details of the long-awaited fiscal regime – the IPC – are almost finalised, and the NIOC is close to offering some of its 49 oil and gas development projects to international investors. A successful market entry strategy requires an understanding of the opportunities and key challenges. Wood Mackenzie has recently published a series of Insights analysing Iran's oil and gas sector, business environment and resurgent economy to help our clients find future value in Iran.
