The Jenein Nord block is located immediately west of Eni's Adam concession in the Ghadames Basin in Southern Tunisia. Twelve discoveries have been made to-date on the concession between 1988-present. Production began in 2007 and was initially processed at temporary facilities located on the fields. In 2010, Pioneer completed the installation of permanent facilities with a processing capacity of 20,000 b/d. Production is transported via a purpose-built spur line to the TRAPSA pipeline, which carries the crude to the Zarzaitine export port of La Skhira. Gas production started in 2014, initially using the El Borma-Gabes gas line. Larger volumes of gas will be transported via a 350 mmcfd pipeline, as part of the Nawara development. In January 2011, OMV acquired the asset as part of the US$839 million corporate acquisitions of Pioneer Tunisia. The deal was completed on February 18, 2011 and OMV assumed operatorship of the company.
