Kasilof is a Hilcorp-operated gas field located on the east side of the Cook Inlet, between the Kenai and Ninilchik units. The field is located offshore, and was discovered in 2004 by an extended-reach multi-lateral well drilled from the shore - the first well of its type to be drilled in southern Alaska. Following construction of a pipeline to link with the Kenai Kachemak Pipeline, first production was achieved in November 2006.
