Magnetic Oil, a local Kazakh firm, operates the Komsomolskoye and Tasbulat Area fields in southwest Kazakhstan. In 2021, it bought the assets from OMV Petrom, which had previously controlled the Kom-Munai and Tasbulat Oil Corporation (TOC) operating companies since the early 2000s.In 2022, aggregate oil production was slightly less than 5,000 b/d from the mature fields.
