KOR Oil Company, a private Kazakh firm, operates the Ashchisai, Bastau and East Karavanchi oil fields in central Kazakhstan. Commercial production began at Ashchisai in 2001 and peaked at 8,000 b/d in 2008. The small Bastau and East Karavanchi deposits was discovered in the 2020s, and initial trial development phases are ongoing.A short pipeline connects Ashchisai to the nearby Kumkol South oil hub, operated by PetroKazakhstan.
