Salyan Oil, a consortium of SOCAR, CNPC (China) and Kunlun Energy (China), operates the onshore Kursanga and Garabagly fields. They were discovered in the Soviet era and have been redeveloped since the 1990s. However, both are mature, with current production far below historical peaks.Oil output averaged 3,200 b/d in 2017. Kursanga accounts for the majority of production.
