La Creciente is a gas producing area in the Lower Magdalena Valley basin. Located about 56 km from the Caribbean coastline, the contract area contains discoveries La Creciente A, La Creciente D, La Creciente I and Apamate. All were discovered by Frontera Energy (formerly Pacific Rubiales) and first gas sales took place in January 2008.The production capacity of the project was much higher than sales because output was constrained by transport capacity and domestic demand.
