La Yesera is a small oil and gas field located in the eastern Neuquén Basin. The field was brought onstream by ChevronTexaco in 2002, with the oil being trucked to the nearby processing plant at Loma Negra (see separate analysis). The installation of pipeline infrastructure in 2004 allowed a more comprehensive development to take place, with oil output increasing and gas sales commencing.
