Report summaryThe Lindero Atravesado block is located in the southern Neuquén basin and contains two fields: Lindero Atravesado Occidental (gas/condensate) and Lindero Atravesado Oriental (oil/gas). While the area is very mature, tight gas from the Lajas formation has increased production. Lindero Atravesado Occidental is primarily a gas field, producing from clastic reservoirs in the Sierras Blancas and Lotena formations at a depth of around 2,900 metres. Oil is also produced from the shallower (2,600 metres) dolomites and limestones of the Quintuco formation. Lindero Atravesado Oriental used to produce gas from the Sierras Blancas formation, but this is now almost depleted. Oil is produced from the Quintuco formation, which is multi-layered and has multiple zones with very little communication. The most productive zones are in the lower formation at depths of 2,400 to 2,600 metres. There is considerable tight gas potential in the Cuyo group (the Los Molles, Lajas and Punta Rosada.
