Litoral de Tabasco is the second largest oil producing business unit in Mexico. It is located in the shallow waters of the Bay of Campeche, within Mexico's Southeastern basin. The business unit's main driver is Proyecto Crudo Ligero Marino, which has received significant investment in Litoral de Tabasco since 2003. Oil produced from the Litoral de Tabasco fields is mostly light (37° API) and forms part of the Isthmus blend that is refined domestically.
