The Luda Area cluster in the Bohai bay comprises several heavy oil fields, Luda 10-1, 4-2, 5-2, 27-2, 21-1, 5-2N and 6-2 etc. In recent years, CNOOC brought several fields on stream, such as Luda 21-1(2021), Luda 29-1(2021), Luda 6-2 (2021), Luda 5-2N (2022) and Luda 4-3 (2022).In 2023, CNOOC started a new phase for the ultra-heavy oil field Luda 5-2N with a new wellhead platform.
