In January 2025, Madagascar announced an initiative to refresh its upstream industry. The government aims to overhaul the oil and gas sector by introducing fairer contracts. This involves three key steps: terminating outdated agreements, developing a new model production sharing contract (PSC) and lifting the suspension on block promotions.
