Report summary
In a year where many companies are cutting discretionary spend and delaying investment in response to the low oil price, Culzean sanction is positive news for the UK. It is by far the largest field in both size and spend approved in the UK this year. However, the FID also stacks up globally – it is the fourth largest investment sanctioned this year behind Johan Sverdrup (Norway), the West Nile Delta fields (Egypt) and Appomattox (GoM).
