The Majnoon field is one of Iraq's largest oil fields and is located in the south-eastern province of Basra, along the Iranian border.Majnoon was initially partly developed by Iraq's South Oil Company, with first oil achieved in 2002. In 2010, a Technical Service Contract (TSC) to further develop the field was awarded to a consortium of Shell and Petronas, with expectations of increasing production to 1.8 million b/d by 2017 and maintaining this level for 10 years.Phase 1 of the TSC ...
