Marlim Sul is one of Brazil's largest producing assets in the Campos basin. The field is far larger in areal extent than Marlim, but recoverable reserves are roughly comparable, as Marlim Sul has a much thinner and more heterogeneous reservoir than its neighbor. The Marlim Sul area is also host to other accumulations, including Jurará and Muçuã - two deep carbonates discovered in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
