Medco Energi acquires Ophir Energy
Report summary
Kicking off what is set to be a bumper year for M&A in Asia Pacific, the board of Ophir Energy recommended an offer from Medco Energi for its assets for 55 pence per share - a total consideration of £390.6 million (US$514 million). Including Ophir's net debt of US$35 million, the deal equates to an enterprise value of US$549 million - a 32% discount to our base-case valuation of US$803 million (NPV10, January 2019).
