MENA upstream month in brief: Libya producing, OPEC reducing
Report summary
MENA OPEC-members appear to be complying with production cuts. Libya, exempt from these cuts, has increased output to 715,000 b/d, with ambitions to reach 1 million b/d by the end of 2017. Activity in Iran is set to grow, as the first batch of international companies pre-qualify, and OMV signs an MoU. M&A has kicked off strongly in 2017, focused on North Africa as expected. Concessions in Abu Dhabi are extended, and Oman's Habhab heavy oil field is put up for tender.
