Miskar

Miskar

Report summary

Miskar is a gas field located in the Gulf of Gabes operated by BG. The field was discovered in 1975 but remained undeveloped until BG brought it onstream in 1996 when a local gas market had been established. Gas is produced from the field via three offshore platforms and piped onshore to the BG-operated Hannibal gas processing plant. Miskar gas is of poor quality and as such requires significant processing, as it has a high content of H2S, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. BG has a gas sales contract with the Tunisian state electricity and gas company, Société Tunisienne de l'Electricité et du Gaz, to supply gas from Miskar on a long-term basis. Condensate is piped from the Hannibal GPP to the La Skhira port for export. The development licence expires in 2022. We anticipate BG will apply for an extension but our valuation only includes reserves which will be produced up to 2022.
