The Mongolian upstream sector has been open to private investors for many years, but interest levels remain low. Production levels remain extremely low as the country struggles to attract investment from established oil and gas players. Mongolia's largest project is operated by PetroChina.Approximately half of Mongolia's sedimentary basin coverage is licensed.
