Montara Area
Report summary
The Montara Area is in the Timor Sea, offshore Australia, approximately 690km west of Darwin. Production licenses AC/L7 and AC/L8 hold three producing oil fields: Montara, Skua and Swift/Swallow. Liquid is produced through a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, the Montara Venture. The Montara field is developed via a fixed unmanned wellhead platform while the Skua and Swift/Swallow fields, located 20-25 kilometres to the northwest, are subsea completions.
