North Sumatra B Block
Report summary
The onshore North Sumatra B Block contains the giant gas condensate field, Arun, and a series of small gas fields. These fields produce gas which was used as feedstock for the Arun LNG plant, as well as supply for an industrial complex of fertiliser plants and paper mills. LNG production from the Arun plant began in 1978, with six LNG trains in operation at the block's peak in 1994.
