NOVATEK is a fast-growing Russian gas Independent. Backed by Total and Gazprom, the company is about to become the largest LNG producer in Russia. NOVATEK will commission the company-making Yamal LNG project in 2017 and is already planning another LNG project: Arctic LNG-2. The company’s strategy aligns closely with state objectives of developing the Arctic and increase local content in Russian oil and gas projects. But the company’s asset base is mature and production needs to be maintained. Meanwhile, NOVATEK requires partners to help deliver its ambitious LNG plans.
