OML 109 is a large block in the shallow waters of the western Niger Delta. In 1991, Atlas Petroleum International was awarded the block, as Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 75 under indigenous sole risk concession terms. Following the discovery of Ejulebe, the licence was converted into Oil Mining Lease (OML) 109 in 1996.
