OML 71
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
OML 71 is a small shallow water block located in the southeast Niger Delta. It contains the undeveloped KI oil and gas discovery. OML 71 was part of the NNPC/Shell Joint Venture (JV), however in May 2015 Shell, Total and Eni sold its combined 45% share to West African E&P (WAEP). Although the new operators plan to develop KI in the future, their focus is expected to be developing fields on the nearby OML 72, which was also acquired by WAEP. Appraisal of KI will be required to firm up any development plan. As a result, we class the reserves as non-commercial.
