Report summary
OML 98 lies in the north-western Niger Delta. Awarded in the 1970s to a joint venture between Pan Ocean and NNPC (now NNPC Limited, NNPCL), the block contains eight developed oil fields. Production is minimal, most fields are nearing depletion, and water production is high. Since 2019 it has been operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of NNPC.
