The Sergipe-Alagoas basin is a relatively modest oil and gas producer, dominated by the Carmópolis field. This analysis covers all the fields in the basin with the exception of the Tartaruga and Piranema fields, which are covered in dedicated analyses. Petrobras plans to divest 98 onshore mature fields and six exploration blocks, grouped in ten clusters, in the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo and Sergipe-Alagoas basins. From this total, ten fields are in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin. The fields together form part of one cluster. All clusters will be licensed under the existing concession regime, with no mandatory state participation. The only bidding criteria will be the cash offered for each cluster. Companies must bid for an entire cluster, rather than target specific fields.
