OMV Petrom is the leading upstream operator in Romania. Its portfolio includes liquids and gas production from shallow-water fields on the Istria block in the Black Sea. This is currently OMV Petrom's only offshore output until the Neptun Deep gas megaproject is commissioned. In 2024, the Istria block's platforms produced around 13,000 boe/d, most of which was gas.
