It was certain to happen sooner or later, at full steam ahead something in the booming Permian was bound to derail. Pioneer Natural Resources shook the investment community on its Q2 2017 investor call when it announced that its GOR was increasing faster than it initially expected. Coupled with some unexpected operational hurdles, the Permian sell-off was drastic – but most Permian players had rebounded by week’s end.
