This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Our Corporate Service peer group of US tight-oil E&Ps – Concho, Continental, Devon, Encana, EOG, and Pioneer – recovered from a problematic H1 and revealed solid progress in Q3. Corporate consolidation, rising free cash flow and operational improvement enabled the sector to turn the corner despite continued pressure from cost inflation, Permian bottlenecks, and hedging losses. Share prices for five of the six companies outperformed the WTI oil price since earning's season began , which fell by 10%. The one exception was Encana, which spooked markets with its headline-grabbing move on Newfield.
