Qatif
Report summary
Qatif is a super-giant oil field that is located predominantly onshore in eastern Saudi Arabia. The northern part of the field extends into the shallow offshore of the Persian Gulf. The field was mothballed during the mid 1980s as demand for OPEC crude fell and its members cut back production. Qatif was selected for shut-in due to its high hydrogen sulphide content.The field has a maximum sustainable capacity of 500 kb/d.
