The Rinconada and Puesto Morales blocks comprise a group of mature assets that were the core of Gran Tierra's portfolio in Argentina. Madalena Energy acquired these assets in June 2014 from Gran Tierra and is focusing on exploiting the fields' Loma Montosa formation. The company launched a small horizontal drilling campaign in 2015 to evaluate whether to invest in a full-scale development programme that could involve 40-50 new wells.
