Report summary
Río Neuquén is a gas-prone field located in the southern flank of the Neuquina basin, in the provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro. This block was originally discovered by YPF in 1971, and production started in 1972.The area was considered mature until the operator confirmed potential in tight formations following a pilot launched in 2006. Since 2007, 100% of the drilled wells targeted Punta Rosada and Lajas tight gas formation.
