Rio Neuquen

Report summary

Río Neuquén is a gas field located in the southern Neuquén basin. Originally discovered by YPF in 1971, the field was purchased by Perez Companc in 1994 for US$160.8 million. The field was considered very mature when the operator began a successful tight gas drilling campaign targeting the Punta Rosada formation in 2011.In 2016, Petrobras sold its interest in Petrobras Argentina to Pampa Energia. Rio Neuquén is the only asset that Petrobras retains in Argentina.
