State-owned Romgaz is the leading gas producer in Romania. Its onshore portfolio of gas fields is extensive and spread across the country. In 2024, Romgaz's onshore gas output was around 480 mmcfd, approximately half of Romania's national total. Romgaz's onshore portfolio primarily consists of mature fields, but also includes the Caragele Deep deposit, which was discovered in 2016.
